Brandon surprised me with Wii Fit yesterday evening.
I couldn’t stop playing. Or, should I say couldn’t stop working out?
A few things I noticed:

The hula hoop game is much harder than it looks. The “Super Hula Hoop” level is a straight three minutes of booty-shaking fun that seriously raised my heart rate.

The Wii Fit Yoga is frustrating because you can’t concentrate so much on breathing/poses because you are making sure that your balance (measured on screen) stays in the correct levels. But, I still liked the tips and found the yoga fun, if not exactly accurate to “real” yoga.
Skiing on Wii Fit feels similar to the knee and leg action of real skiing.
Running was amusing, but not exactly strenuous: jogging in place doesn’t substitute for real running by any stretch.
The BMI/Body Test/Weight Calculator that the game encourages you to take every day really does make you aware of your body’s shortcomings and improvements. I was slightly skeptical, though, when the Body Test said I’d lost 1.1 pounds and shaved .50 off my BMI after playing for about 40 minutes.

For people that rarely get any physical exercise, Wii Fit would be good to get them off the couch. They’d probably even see some minor weight loss. But, for someone like me who is used to running/working out at a high cardio level, this just seemed fun, rather than exercise-like.
