…I stopped into our local 7-11 to grab an energy drink. As usual, there was a contingent of local Hispanics hanging out, buying lotto tickets, etc.

As I walked to the counter to pay, one guy came up into my face, stuck out his hand and tried to shake my hand. He said, “How are you doing today?”

I looked at his hand. I looked down at his face. I said, “Fine.”

He wouldn’t back off. He stood with his friend right behind me, staring at my ass (not much to see, but to each his own) and making lewd gestures.

As I went to leave, he yelled out, “You’re so hot baby!”

I rolled my eyes and said, “I’m not your baby.”

He yelled out after me, “You’re sexy when you’re angry.”

I gave him the finger. He jumped back, startled that I’d responded so aggressively instead of ignoring him.

Moral of the story?

Men, don’t be jerks. Don’t be rude. Don’t invade my personal space. Stop calling me sexy. Stop calling me your baby.

Stop everything you’re doing, pretend you have a daughter or a little sister and ask yourself how you’d want men to treat her.
