It was like the running of the bulls. In the Old Navy near my parent’s home in VA, every soccer mom, redneck hick and college sorority girl descended upon the store like bees to a hive of plastic delight. According to one employee I spoke with, every flip flop was gone by noon-ish. A bare wall was all that remained. But—(and here’s the irony)—even at regular price, these things only cost $5 for two pairs. So, why the rush? Fashionista
